    Sinopsis

    Cerita ini diangkat berdasarkan kisah nyata tentang seorang pemuda Indonesia keturunan China, berseting pada masa akhir jaman Soekarno.
    Dengan pemikiran mudanya, Gie dan Kawan-kawan melakukan demo untuk menggulingkan Soekarno yang dimaksudkan untuk menghapus kolonialisme yang diterapkan Soekarno, mensejahterakan seluruh rakyat Indonesia serta menghapus praktek-praktek korupsi yang ada di pemerintahan saat itu...
    Namun sayang setelah para Mahasiswa berhasil menjatuhkan Soekarno dan berganti dengan Zaman "ORDE BARU" Soeharto semua harapan-harapan Gie Kandas, dan banyak dari teman-teman seangkatannya menjadi peminpin pada jaman itu.
    GIE berada ditengah-tengah kehidupan yang rumit saat itu karena latar belakangnya yang keturunan China.
    (Politik itu T*i kucing bisa membuat orang yang berpikiran Ideologis lupa akan pemikiran mereka saat mereka sudah berada dipuncak politik, Gie)
    (Lebih baik diasingkan, daripada menyerah pada kemunafikan, GIE)
