    Default Pencuri 9.000 Unit iPod Dipenjara 13 Tahun

    SAN FRANSISCO - Pengadilan federal akhirnya memutuskan untuk memberikan hukuman 13 bulan penjara pada seorang pria asal Michigan.

    Pria bernama Nicholas Woodhams tersebut terbukti telah mencuri sebanyak 9.000 iPod dari Club Cupertino, kantor pusat Apple. Selain dikenai sanksi penjara, Woodhams pun dikenai denda senilai USD650.000 sebagai ganti rugi. Demikian keterangan yang dikutip dari Yahoo Tech News, Jumat (28/8/2009).

    Woodhams yang pada April lalu juga mengakui telah melakukan pencucian uang dan pencurian lewat akun email diketahui melakukan penipuan terhadap perusahaan Apple yang membesut iPod yang dicurinya.

    Pencurian yang dilakukan oleh Woodhams bukanlah dengan cara biasa. Dia menebak-nebak nomor serial produk pemutar musik iPod shuffle yang masih bergaransi.

    Setelah itu, pencuri cerdik ini mengontak situs Apple dan memberikan keterangan palsu soal jumlah konsumen yang menginginkan penggantian iPod gratis.

    Hasilnya sungguh mengejutkan. Woodhams sukses menciptakan bisnis jual beli dengan menjual iPods baru yang dikirimkan Apple.

    Pria ini rupanya memang mahir melakukan tindakan kriminal. Selain melakukan kejahatan yang telah disebutkan, Woodhams juga pernah dikenai sanksi hukuman atas tindak kriminal berbeda dengan membayar denda USD750.000. sumber : okezone

    Kayaknya pernah baca kasus yang sama, lupa di mana.
    Salah satu contoh penyalahgunaan kebaikan Apple. :onion-08: Apple udah berbaik hati mengganti iPod yang rusak secara gratis, eh malah kena tipu. Canggih juga nih Pak Woodhams, bisa nebak nomor serinya iPod.
