5. Fasterer fox - tweak firefox
6. Download Helper - regenerator link streaming video

knp, engine V8 (java script engine) cuman cepet ngolah web google ajah.

walau overall masih 'terlihat' cepetan chrome, ntar mozilla terbaru bakalan lebihin chrome terbarunya. dengan engine "trace monkey"-ny

fasterfox, gw gk pake bro. soalnya kmrn sempet denger kabar kalo fasterfox tuh plugin khusus fx 2.0 yang di overide (dipaksa) jalan di fx 3 (cuman rubah masalah mac compatibility)

jadinya gw sih mencoba fastererfox yang udah support fx3 juga. secara fitur sama jah koq kaya faster fox.

ato kalo mo coba faster fox, bisa cari faster fox lite, pengembangan terbaru.

Minta official link lebih lanjut mengenai Fastererfox dan faster fox lite-nya biar bisa sy pelajari.
Keduanya beda developer atau satu developer?

Mengenai fasterfox, sy sudah pernah coba untuk yg firefox v2nya baik2 saja.
Tapi begitu sy coba di firefox 3, ada beberapa masalah:
- Beberapa plugin yg pernah sy instal eror. contoh di kasus sy flash plugin.
- Ga kompatibel sama unofficial theme firefox v3. Suka crash begitu theme diaktifkan.
- Beberapa website pernah sy buka, tapi yg muncul malah script.

Masalah diatas hilang begitu sy coba instal ulang firefoxnya.
Sy kurang tau mengenai browser firefox, tapi menurut sy masalah diatas munculnya gara2 fasterfox (Krn masalah itu muncul begitu sy coba instal fasterfoxnya).

Mengenai keluhan error yang tadi:
- Masalah 1: Akan sy coba dengan update flashnya. ^^

- Masalah 2: Kalo ini kejadian crash biasanya memang terjadi sewaktu sy masuk ke website-website.
Mungkin seperti yg bro bilang, crash karena rendering page. Paling sering sewaktu sy masuk
ke website yang memiliki banyak konten jpeg & banner2/ads.

- Masalah 3: Maaf sy tidak mengambil scrshotnya ketika masalah ini terjadi,.:onion-69:
Tapi masalah yg ketiga ini sangat jarang terjadi, sy baru pernah mengalami ini dua kali ketika menggunakan firefox v3.0.1.
Sekarang sy menggunakan firefox v3.0.3 dan tidak menginstal fasterfox. Jadi masalah ke 3 tidak pernah terjadi.

IMO secara fitur adalah sama.

perbedaan yang fasterfox merupakan vesi awal dan di peruntukan tuk Fx 2.0.

truz developernya gk lanjutin, jadinya ada orang yang cuman overide max version (jadi tuh addons bisa di pake di FX 3)

klo fasterer fox sepertinya dah di sempurnakan, tuk engine Fx 3.0 CMIIW.

kalo yg lite, perbedaannya bisa di liat di site di atas. kalo gk salah sih fungsi prefetching web di hilangkan.

hmm.. thanks dah share story-na. gw sih gk pake toonel :p coz router gw nge-block port proxy-na. tapi dulu gw pernah pake sih, prasaan baek² ajah, gk sampe ilank gt.

Gw dah update sih nih thread jadi 3.0.4 dari waktu jam 01.00 AM, link-ny juga dah gw taru di depan. (link-nya situ error tuh, dapet co-pas dari mana? :P)

kaga apa2 kok, kalau firefox kita diseting otomatis update emang gitu kok, jadi tiap ada versi terbaru firefox otomatis download terus klo udah selesai, firefoxnya minta restart untuk ganti jadi firefox baru (ya tentunya saat restart, cek kompabilitnya dg add on yg sudah terinstall)

ntu generasi mozilla 2 bro. beda engine / arsitektur.

sejak fx 3 kluar yang fx 2 masih di lanjutin development-ny. cuman desember ini merupakan development fx 2 yang terakhir. jadi pemaksaan musti pindah ke fx 3.

overall sebnrnya lebih bagus fx 3, cuman kdg ad user yg 'merasa' fx 2 jauh lebih ringan dan support addons lebih banyak.

7 Trik Firefox Cepat

Secara umum Firefox sendiri sudah memiliki kinerja yang melampaui IE, tetapi dengan sedikit sentuhan dan pengaturan yang tepat Anda bisa membuatnya 2x lebih cepat lagi hanya dalam waktu 5 menit saja. Ikutilah trik-trik di bawah ini.

1. Aktifkan Pipelining
Biasanya browser bekerja dengan mengirimkan permintaan kepada server dan menunggu respon sebelum melanjutkan proses. Pipelining adalah sebuah teknik lebih agresif yang memungkinkan browser untuk mengirimkan beberapa permintaan sekaligus sebelum menerima respon apapun untuk mengurangi waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk mengunduh isi halaman. Untuk mengaktifkan fungsi ini ketik "about:config" pada kotak alamat, klik-ganda pada "network.http.pipelining" dan "network.http.proxy.pipelining" agar nilainya berubah menjadi "true" kemudian klik-ganda pada "network.http.pipelining.maxrequest" dan jadikan nilainya "8".

Perlu diingat bahwa beberapa server tidak melayani pipelining. Jadi, ada kemungkinan kalau pengaturan ini justru memperburuk kinerja. Atur kembali semuanya seperti pengaturan awal jika memang terjadi masalah.

2. Render dengan Cepat
Situs yang besar dan rumit bisa memakan waktu untuk diunduh. Firefox tidak ingin membuat Anda menunggu, jadi dengan pengaturan standar Firefox akan langsung menampilkan apa yang ia terima setiap 0,12 detik. Walaupun hal ini membuat browser terkesan lebih cepat, rendering ulang yang dilakukan terus menerus meningkatkan waktu total yang dibutuhkan untuk menampilkan halaman, kita dapat mengurangi jumlah rendering ulang untuk meningkatkan kinerja.

Ketik "about:config" dan tekan [ENTER], kemudian klik kanan pada tampilan utama dan kemudian pilih "New > Integer". Ketik "content.notify.interval" sebagai nama preferensi Anda, klik "ok", masukkan "500000" (500 ribu) dan klik "ok" kembali.

Klik kanan lagi pada tampilandan pilih "New > Boolean". Kali ini buat nilai disebut "content.notify.ontimer" dan atur menjadi "True" untuk menyelesaikan tugas Anda.

3. Loading Lebih Cepat
Jika Anda tidak menggerakkan tetikus atau menyentuh keyboard selama 0,75 detik, Firefox akan masuk ke dalam mode "low frequency interrupt" yang artinya interface-nya menjadi kurang responsif tetapi bisa me-load halaman lebih cepat.

Ketik "about:config" dan tekan [ENTER], klik kanan pada tampilan dan pilih "New > Integer". Ketik "content.switch.threshold", klik "ok", masukkan "250000" (seperempat detik) dan klik "ok" untuk menyelesaikan.

4. Tidak Ada Interupsi
Anda bisa melakukan langkah lebih jauh dengan memberitahu Firefox untuk sama sekali mengabaikan user interface events sampai halaman selesai diunduh. Memang cara ini agak ekstrim karena Firefox bisa menjadi tidak responsif selama beberapa waktu, tetapi tidak ada salahnya untuk dicoba apakah efeknya positif untuk Anda.

Ketik "about:config", tekan [ENTER] dan klik kanan, pilih "New > Boolean". Ketik "content.interrupt.parsing", klik "ok", atur nilainya menjadi "False" dan klik "ok".

5. Tingkatkan Ukuran Cache
Ketika berselancar Firefox akan menyimpan gambar dan skrip pada memory cache lokal di mana Anda bisa mempercepat pengambilan data jika mengunjungi situs yang sama kembali. Jika Anda memiliki RAM yang besar (2GB atau lebih), biarkan Firefox berjalan lebih lama sehingga mengunjungi kembali halaman-halaman situs akan lebih cepat, terutama dengan cache yang besar.

Ketik "about:config" dan tekan [ENTER], kemudian klik kanan dan pilih "New > Integer". Ketik "browser.cache.memory.capacity", klik "ok", masukkan "65536" dan klik "ok", kemudian "restart" browser untuk mendapatkan cache yang baru dan lebih besar.

6. Aktifkan TraceMonkey
TraceMonkey adalah engine Javascript baru dari Mozilla yang super cepat, dalam beberapa benchmark bahkan mencetak nilai 40x lebih besar dibandingkan versi saat ini. Tracemonkey mungkin saat ini memang dalam tahap pengembangan dan masih sedikit buggy, tetapi jika Anda berkeberatan menggunakan perangkat lunak dalam tahap pengembangan, dapatkan nightly build terbaru dari (ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/). Versi beta pertama Firefox 3.1 juga dijadwalkan untuk dikeluarkan bulan ini juga.

Ketik "about:config" pada kotak alamat dan tekan [ENTER]. Ketik "JIT" pada kotak filter, lalu klik ganda "javascript.options.jit.chrome" dan "javascript.options.jit.content" untuk mengubah nilainya menjadi "true". Selamat!, kini Anda telah menggunakan engine Javascript mutakhir Firefox.

7. Kompres Data
Jika Anda memiliki koneksi internet lambat, mungkin Anda merasa bahwa Firefox tidak berkinerja baik. TItu tidak sepenuhnya benar! Instalasikan toonel.net dan aplikasi Java ini akan mengambil alih trafik internet Anda melalui server-nya sendiri. Semua data yang melalui server Toonel lalu dikompres sehingga data yang perlu diunduh browser lebih sedikit.

Bahkan, Toonel juga bisa mengompres gamar JPEG, tetapi tentunya berdampak pada penurunan kualitas gambar. Tips ini berguna untuk memangkas jumlah data yang dikirimkan, bermanfaat jika memiliki akun internet yang terbatas per bulan atau saat menggunakan koneksi internet yang lambat seperti GPRS.

Liat di offline storagenya itu dipasang berapa MB buat cachenya? 50 MB dah cukup, soalnya kalo kegedean nanti malah jadi lemot :). Oh iya coba liat config mozillanya, ketik about:config di url terus di tab filternya tulis aja cache, liat browser.cache.disk.enable ama browser.cache.memory.enable valuenya true ato gak, kalo gak dibuat jadi true.

Kenapa kog akhir2 ini sering ada laporan crash firefox ya? Tiba2 firefox close dgn sendirinya dan ada laporan crash. Padahal bisa dikatakan hampir tidak ada software lain yg beda daripada yg saya pake sebelumnya.
Yg gw pake adalah Firefox 3.0.5 dgn OS Windows XP MCE SP3 x86. Sekarang lagi rajin upload di idws, tp harus ngulang lagi gara2 kejadian ini, bete banget dah :hammer:

Kenapa kog akhir2 ini sering ada laporan crash firefox ya? Tiba2 firefox close dgn sendirinya dan ada laporan crash. Padahal bisa dikatakan hampir tidak ada software lain yg beda daripada yg saya pake sebelumnya.

Engga kog, gw gak pernah kalo pake yg versi beta. Apa karena OS-nya ya?? Soalnya dulu gw pake XP Professional SP2 fine2 aja tuh. Eh, sekarang coba2 pake XP MCE SP3 malah sering crash gini :hammer:

umm.. gw blum pernah restore profile (fbu) ntu mpe berhasil...
terlalu lama waktunya, dan seringkali nge hang d kompi gw.

Akhirnya gw prefer backup-ny selective ajah, gk full profile, coz IMO daripada gw backup full profile pke febe, mending gw copy paste ajah 1 folder profile, ntu. lebih cepet :D

lagi klo selective kan bisa pilih mo restore apa dulu, gw biasanya bookmark (json) ma ekstensi (xpi)

Klo gw sih pada saat restore profile sblmnya buat profile baru dulu (untuk persiapan profile non-aktif) , di buatnya di

C:\Documents and Settings\<nama user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox
tinggal buat folder baru.

nah saat mo restore ntar pilihnya folder baru ntu.

baru di aktifkan lewat run => C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -profilemanager

iya bener kata bro CottonBud. cukup lama tuk ngebackup semua cookies, history, dll. cukup yang penting2 aja dulu. seperti bookmark, passowrd (tuk yang 2 jenis ini bisa pke backup OL pke forxmark). selaen itu juga extension ma theme juga.

maksudnya gak bisa di restore itu gmn? soalnya gw juga dulu pernah nge backup and restore, gak ada masalah tuh...
apa milih directory dimana backupnya disimpen, salah. he..he..

Dan terkadang ada beberapa frase/kata kata yg ditempelin sama infolink pada suatu halaman sehingga menurut gw memboroskan bandwidth.
